Why and how to incorporate ICTs to the classroom

Principals, teachers and responsible entities of ICTs were summoned by the developers of the digital educational device TABI and INTEL to a meeting day in order to share the main trends of including technology in education.

The meeting took place last March 25th in the Novotel hotel situated in Buenos Aires’ downtown where, during breakfast, the most innovative resources and tools to tech up the teaching and learning process were shown.

“Do not limit a child to your own learning, for he was born in another time”. This quote from philosopher Rabindranath Tagore helped Santiago García Vitores, CEO of Education at Intel Latin America, explain the benefits of the changes in education for the new generations.

“In Argentina, Intel Education’s initiative is helping teachers and the government with the preparation of students for tomorrow’s demands, collaborating and offering resources that enhance innovation in the processes of learning and teaching”, he announced before showing solutions and software packs the company offers to achieve it.

In her turn, the licentiate in Educational Sciences Natalia Jasín pinpointed the courses and trainings Intel offers educators regarding digital classroom administration and taking advantage of the available resources.

With a particularly rapt audience, Jasín commented: “The technology topic is already established, it is impossible to go back. But it is necessary to understand that the teacher has been working for 30 years in a different way and requires patience to professionally advance with this new paradigm”.

Between the digital news from Kapelusz Norma and the demonstration of EXO’s digital classroom, Maximiliano López presented TABI, and stated it was “specially designed by pedagogical professionals so that children between 2 and 6 years old can learn playing with a device that contains easy, safe and natural application and appropriate contents for the school curricle”.

Throwing it to the ground, he demonstrated its resistance and, in front of several teachers and principals of Early Education, highlighted that TABI does not need Internet connection, has more than 40 default apps in a protected ambient with 100% intuitive parental control, and includes guides with exercises, practical ideas and prime quality technical specifications.

As a guarantee of its great versatility, the pedagogue Cristina Rodrígues narrated the excellent integration TABI had in the 26 kindergartens from the Vicente López Municipality, in which she carries out the role of Education sub-secretary.

This way, TABI moves along in its mission to escort the innovation process of schools to bring quality education that live up to the new generation of students.
