Guide to Asperger's Syndrome

Asperger Syndrome is a Pervasive Developmental Disorder wich generates social interaction difficulties and problems of communication and expression from birth. 
 

Its symptoms tend to stand out at school age, and are characterized by deviations or abnormalities in three broad aspects of development: social connections and skills, use language for communication purposes, and repetitive features or persistent behavior, and a limited but intense range of interests. 

Asperger is believed to represent a developmental disorder with neurological basis of unknown cause in most cases. Diagnose in children or young age is crucial for treatment and to detect or implement the necessary actions for support. 

A project to help 

The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in Spain, has been proposed tearing down the communicative walls that limit the children with Asperger , and offer help using simply a mobile device or tablet. 
 

This is the Project Sapp, an application developed by the Computing student José Luis Molina, who has this severe developmental disorder. 
Sapp intended to be a manual on how to act in a social relationship, as short as it would be. For Beatriz Correas,project director and a PhD in Computer Science, "is like a script, it's like cinema ", where information is provided to get along everyday. 
 

The app guide is easy to use and anyone can use it, and includes a description of the situation, a script written by therapists and a video for example. 
Its makers claim that initially it will contain 80 social situations, but their artificial intelligence will allow you to learn constantly, as it includes a section to add and evaluate experiences not collected previously. 
 

Its aim is to alleviate social isolation and the consequent suffering they are exposed and break the dependency that Asperger creates with their therapist or parent, without whom their feel defenseless. 
Is expected to be ready in late 2014 and in the beginning it will be available on Android OS.
